This quite embarrassing to ask regarding my back injury?

I am having back surgery Jan 28th - after 4 previous surgeries and a neurosurgeon who didn't give a crap about me, I have finally got another opinion. The new neurosurgeon explained that all the hardware (rods and screws, ,etc) would have to be removed and redone, and in addition, he would have to fuse 2 more above the previous ones. My pain is excruciating, pain from my butt cheek all the way down my left leg and a lot of pressure in my low back. As of yesterday I been experiencing a great deal of pressure in my anus and is very painful. It is not related to my bowels as they are moving normally. Could this be due to my back problem? Should I call my doctor?

P.S. I have been through everything to prevent this surgery; PT, epidural injections, etc.

yes, call the doctor. When you have lower back problems sometimes it can cause you to loose control of your bodily functions, they may need to move your surgery up.
