Question DetailsHello, I am 14 and as you know, a virgin. So I have been having pain in my right ovary for quite a while and iv been bleeding constantly for over 20 days now. My discharge smells terrible. The doctors first thought it was endometryosis. Iv been on birth control for 3 months but nothings worked. Recently my back and my leg have been hurting terribly. Im also very tiered and Iv lost my appetite. My doctor mentioned cervical cancer. Iv since changed doctors because of the answers to my last question. Everyone said to get a pap smear. This morning I went in and all she did was take my blood again for a cbc test and she gave me different birth control. Iv been told many times that it sounds like cervical cancer symptoms. Iv also done a lot of research and I agree. My doctor refused to give me a pap smear because im only 14. She wants me to "wait the birth control out" 3 months. If this cervical cancer then it is advanced by the symptoms and Iv had this problem for a year now. I feel like if I wait 3 months, it will only get worse and then we might find out it is cancer and its too late. What am I supposed to do? She told me there is no point in a PAP smear because it's for sexually active. A PAP smear tests your cervic's cells to test for problems. Isnt this a reasonable request? If you look up cervical cancer symptoms, I have the textbook definintion of it. I really need help here. Anybody work for an OBGYN near cincinnati that can help me? please?

And yes you can get a PAP smear at 14 and being a virgin. I did so it is not unheard of.
It is better to get one and be safe than sorry your doctor is not a good one. Please go to another doctor and get a second opinion. If you feel uneasy about waiting then do not wait this is your body..take the steps to take care of it.

4: Who said it sounds like cancer? Your doctors or random people? Don't listen to random people. I don't think you can even get cervical cancer without HPV, which is a STD.

However, virgins can get pap smears, and if you and your doctor are concerned, there isn't any harm in getting one. It may hurt as your hymen is probably still intact, so you can ask for smaller, or "child size" tools (not sure their names haha) but they use those sizes to examine young rape victims so most, if not all gynecologists should have them.
