Question Details
......I had a catheter put in a few months ago, for my prostate problem.
Is there a link between the catheter and the feeling of "piles"??
Best Answer
Is the catheter still in position ?. If you have had examination for prostate it may be a little sore,I bled when I had mine. Nothing to worry about if you are going to have TURPs operation it is not painful in the least and can carry on living as usual.

1: Catheter tubes can be painful if the lubricant is insufficient. Hems rarely cause pain unless infection occurs. Prostate pain is really relative to urinary pressure problems.

So where then is this pain and how how painful is it...?

Piles are external and caused by several reasons, but they can be very painful and even bleed. Irritation of underclothing will aggravate piles also.

Preparation H usually works fine, but having piles once is having the bumps for a lifetime of awareness. Use soft toilet paper and stay aware.

Meanwhile, as you are now under doctor's care, definitely speak to him about the condition because if it's internal then it must be treated with caution.

Good luck
2: No, there is no link with a catheter and hemorrhoids. Are they internal or external?
I wonder if they are actually hemorrhoids or an enlarged prostate. Go back to your Doctor and discuss it with him/her. To find out what it is and what can be done to correct it.
Good luck to you
