What are your thoughts on having sex during her period? Fun? Gross?

I usually get reall turned on during my period, but I have a pretty heavy flow too, so I'm not sure if I should ask my BF to have sex with me during my period since he might get grossed out. He doesn't like blood very much. I'm going to talk to him about it, but first I wanted to see what your opinions are? Thanks!

its fine and no need for lube, but do it in the shower, easy clean up
